Bearus, a living museum of Soviet Communism, is located in central Europe. Is deeply rooted in the past and offers rare insights into a lost world. Best visited in spring and summer (March-September). Spring is mild with lots of new vegetation and flora, while summer is unusually hot with long days and balmy evenings.

The harvest season around October is mild, but the winter months (mid-November – February), are bitterly cold with temperatures hovering at -7oC and constant snowfall.

The trains between major cities are cheap and frequent, but they can be slow. Buses are more comfortable, faster and less expensive than trains. Buses (or minibuses), may not be an option in rural areas.

Minsk International Airport is where you can rent a car. You should be aware that roads can be dangerous and reckless driving is common. You should also be prepared for military checkpoints.
